Note | Studierte im Sommer 1587 in Leipzig. 1598 am 23.7. Dr. jur. utr. in Basel. 1600 trat er in einer Rechtsangelegenheit als Anwalt seines Vaters auf. 9.3.1602 im Reichsadeldiplom (Nr. 6) genannt, obwohl sein Vater noch lebte. 1603 Erster Schöppe des Kaiserlichen Schöppengerichts zu Mgdb. Fürstlich Braunschw. Geheimer Rat, Bischöfl. Halberstädter Kanzler. Durch vielerlei gelehrte Schriften hatte er sich einen “berühmten Namen” gemacht. Schon als Student in Wittenberg (1596) hatte er eine Rede drucken lassen über die Frage, ob das Erbkönigtum oder das Wahlkönigtum für den Staat vorteilhaft sei (Jöcher, Gelehrten-Lexikon). 1619 schrieb er über das Recht der Münzprägung. Er wurde von den Stadtvätern in schwierigen Fällen zu Rate gezogen. Belehnt 1622. Erbsaß auf Gommern, Königsborn und Kalenberge. Seine Witwe wohnte bis 1639 in Goslar. Am 20.7.1632 hatte der schwedische Statthalter ihr und ihren 3 Söhnen einen Mutschein ausgestellt; 1642 erhielt sie einen Lehnbrief für die Söhne. Dr. Jakob ist der Stammvater der noch bestehenden beiden Linien geworden. |
